Gender Roles and Stereotypes

Well, to begin with, I was in a single gender school and a mixed gender school, and the experiencies was very different. When I was in a single gender school, I was ten years old and was horrible. My classmates did bullying each other, and often we fight and abuse between us. Though, when I was transferred to other school, the situation was very different, the people was nicer, there was more diversity, and there was other environment.

I think that the social contact is very important to the personal development, specially in the teenage and childhood because is when one person is growing and knowing the world.

Unfortunately, the society don´t think the same, despite a lot of people has changed their minds, there are people that still keep sexism and discriminatory thoughts, treating different forms to women and men, like for example associating jobs only for men because "it´s not work for a girl" limiting and assign them for special roles.

The same happens with the kids, because the society force them to play with specifical toys like for example, the soccer or sports for boys and the barbies for girls.

I hope that this situation will change in the future with the new generations, and I know that is possible because the people are learning new thoughts and accept that everyone is posible to do something, no matter his gender or identity.

For last, I would say that I like the gender with I was born, and I would not like to change it, because it´s like a natural part of my identity like for example my name, and I like who I´m. But, I completely understand and respect if one person want to change their body, gender or another feature about him.
